On September 14, 15, and 16 some members of the SJOC spent time in Creede. We ate, attended the theater; ate, hiked, fished; ate, attended the theater; ate, hiked, fished, exercised a creative bent, and ate.
Participating in some or all of these diverse activities were: Sue and John Bozek, Nancy and Jim Cole, Shirley and David Hunter, Gail Reilly and Marvin Sacks, Joyce Ramberg, Linda and Mike Sneider, Judi and Gary Stansbury, and Sara Wilson.
The eateries varied from simple to gourmet to only desserts. The hikes were long and flat to high and tough. The scenery was awesome. The fishing was productive (Browns, Brookies, Cuts and an almost Rainbow). We fished Ivy Creek, Red Mountain Creek, Rio Grande, Love Lake (10,000 ft.) and Trout Creek. The hikers did Ivy Creek the first day and some of the Colorado Trail the next day before lightening made them do an about face. The Aspen were just turning, but at higher altitude they were close to their peak. Some camped, some motel'ed it, all seemed to have had a great time with fellow SJOCers in the mountains, the mines, the “big” city, and the streams.
Photos: Photos were taken by John Bozek except for the picture of four people by Ivy Creek which was shot by Judy Stansbury
