A Heritage of Artistry PDF   E-mail

Robert R. Shoffner, Jr. Third Generation Piano Technician
Robert R. Shoffner, Jr. Third Generation Piano Technician
1933. Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers first work together. Prohibition was repealed. Albert Einstein immigrated to the USA. Bread cost five cents a loaf. You could go to the theater for ten cents. You could buy a new pair of boots for less than three dollars. A mortgage on a three bedroom, 2 bath home was forty-five dollars a month. And in 1933 the first Shoffner professionally tuned a piano for three dollars and a heritage of artistry began.

Robert Shoffner’s grandfather started the heritage of artistry - the heritage of excellence – with his first piano tuning in Colorado Springs, CO. His career as a piano technician spanned for several successful decades and when it was time to retire, his son, Robert Shoffner, Sr., was there ready to fill his shoes.

Today, seventy-four years later, Robert Shoffner, Jr. continues the family heritage in Pagosa Springs, CO. The move here, from Denver came about shortly after the Columbine school shooting. Robert knew that he had to get his family and himself out of the Denver area and live where there was more peace and less danger.

Robert’s Piano Service offers much more than just excellent tuning, regulation and voicing of a piano. He also offers complete rebuilding, restoration and refinishing services for both new and antique pianos. And the results are superb. The Shoffner’s dedication to quality, excellence and craftsmanship are clearly evident in every piece that Robert works on.

The next time you are in the market to purchase a new piano, have a piano tuned, or need to have a damaged piece repaired, call Shoffner’s Piano Service and Sales and see the excellent quality and service that is available in Pagosa Springs. (970-731-6547)
