ATVing in Pagosa PDF   E-mail

As a member of the active military, I never seem to have time to enjoy myself except while I am on leave. After my recent transfer from U.S. Naval Hospital Guam, I spent some time up in Pagosa Springs, Co with my family. Pagosa is a very beautiful place in the mountains, with loads of things you can do. So many things to do, there is not enough time in a normal leave period to do them all!

On my trip I found a way to check out the scenery and have fun doing it. I rented an ATV from Outback Mountain ATV Rentals. They are a very down to earth company that listened to what I wanted to do. After hearing about the type of experience I wanted they tailored the ride right to my needs.

Mountain roads are plentiful in Pagosa Springs, COWhen I went, I wanted to have some fun and excitement plus I wanted to take some pictures. They explained the very best places to go and told me how to get there. They even gave me a map to help me once I was on my own.

I had the excitement of beautiful back roads filled with scenery, wildlife and even a few rough spots. I was able to ride and then turn off the machine, sit back and take in some of the most breathtaking views I have seen. Let me tell you, the digital camera was well used that day!

When you go ATVing, make sure you let the company know what your experience level is. If you have never rode an ATV (4 wheeler), you might want to take it slow. The paths start a little rough. But when you get further up in the mountains the paths start getting smooth. Watch your speed, the signs and your map, and you should have no problems at all.

Here are a couple pictures I took for you at home to view. I will leave the rest of the adventure up to you.
