I led a fun group of 11 on my favorite fall color hike in the Buckles Lake area. After taking a detour off the V-Rock Trail through the crooked aspen forest, we had gorgeous views overlooking huge aspen groves and Buckles and Harris Lakes.
The colors changed later than usual this fall, so there were still s lot of green aspens, David Hunter guided the group on a steep downhill cross-country route through the aspen to search for arborglyphs and the aspen groves that displayed the brightest colors. Participants were David and Shirley Hunter, Sid and Joan Harris, Brooks Chadwick, Dorie Boynton, Ingrid Leppitsch, Mary Ann Durham, Mary Ann Sayre and Barbara Olgletree.
