She is going to place the newsletter on her web site at pagosareview.com. Everyone that has internet service will have to go to that site to see the newsletter. Former Editor PDF   E-mail

Former Editor, Paula Bain is shown with the large puma sculpture, “Spirit of the Southwest”, she painted for the San Juan Mountain Association a couple of years ago. She is going to devote more time to painting on canvas and sculpting. The puma will be located in the newly designed Children’s Museum in Durango when the remodeling is finished.

 
Get Ready for the SJOC Sports swap on Oct. 20th! PDF   E-mail

Nancy ColeThe annual SJOC Ski and Sports Swap is scheduled for Saturday, October 20. The Swap is a service the SJOC provides for the community by making low cost sports gear available. It is also a primary fund-raiser for scholarships the Club gives local graduating seniors each year.

Green River Canoe/Kayak Trip in Utah PDF   E-mail
ImageI was anxious about being the only woman with nine men on this week long outing scheduled from June 3rd to the 9th. But I decided I would go in the spirit of being one of the guys. I practiced scratching, farting, and cussing for a week ahead of time, to my family’s disdain. What I experienced was quite a surprise.

Actually, I had to clean up MY language. The only colorful language came during Bob’s McGregor joke; one worth hearing, I might add. Oh, there may have been one expletive here or there such as, “don’t touch my #$@% steak”, or some such mild stuff. I didn’t see any unsightly scratching, and I kept my distance from the male slumbering area all but one night, but I’ve never heard such grunts and groans as those fellows settling in for the night.
