Pay it Forward, Pagosa Series, is a group of individuals who believe that a collaborative effort of people who care about the quality of life in Archuleta County can make a difference in the financial health of several very important area groups who rely on the healthy financial situation of Archuleta County government directly for funding, or upon a healthy economy in Archuleta County for citizens and business contributions. The purpose of the organization is to give all the citizens of Archuleta County numerous opportunities to participate in a combination of fun and fundraising events designed to benefit many different area groups either by producing a fundraising event for a specific group or groups, or by providing a free venue for area groups to conduct their own fundraising event or promote a future fundraising campaign.

A group of citizens, Citizens Action Coalition: "Rescue Pagosa", have united to create a series of fund raisers to benefit several of the non-profit groups in our area, a number of which are suffering from the overall economy of our county, and some that are threatened with a lack of funding due to the inability of the County to provide funds due to its financial crisis. Many programs severely affected by the County's financial crisis are listed in last weeks Sun. These programs, and others, are vital to our community because they contribute greatly to our quality of life her in Pagosa, whether we realize it or not. If you or anyone you know, has ever benefited in any way from any of these programs, then you will understand that it is time for us, as a community of individuals, to step up and help those who are being hurt by the County's problems. The Town government can't do it all -- they need help of all us citizens of Archuleta County. After all who is the Town? Who is the County? We get to thinking that those entities are separate from us, since we elect many of those who administer the programs, but the hard fact is that WE are the Town and the County -- all of us, and it is time for everyone of us to step up ad pitch in to help all of these organizations and groups that are being hurt. NOW is the time for us to show that we care, AND we can have a great time in the process.
