Well, Pagosa the snow is slowly but surely disappearing and we are seeing many more days of warm sunshine. The layers we've been wearing are getting less and less now as we look forward to days we can get outside and not have to shovel or blow snow.
I'm thinking Spicy Skillet Chicken to add zip to the dinner table along with Apple Cheese Bread slathered in butter and Molasses Fruit Pudding topped, perhaps, with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream is a sure cure for any lingering blues of winter we might have.

Oh, how the March winds blow
Across the glistening snow
Sending a shiver right down
To your toes.
This is the time we need the comfort of good warm foods. I like to serve steaming bowls of soup on days like these. Busy Day Corn Chowder, easy and quick to put on the table, Beef Noodle Soup, a hearty and stick-to-your-ribs kind of food, and German Potato Soup, rich, warming, and so enticing.

February is Heart Month in more ways than one. This is the month to show the one you love a little extra special attention. Tempt your sweetheart with a romantic dinner starting with Button Mushroom Delight followed by a simple Chicken and Rice Casserole and ending with Honey-Kissed Pears.

BRRR!!! The weather has turned frightfully cold; snow and ice covering everything in sight. These are days when good stick-to-your-ribs stews are so welcoming at the dinner table. For those of us who are getting back to work and making sure childen are safely back in school a good Beef Burgundy done in the crock pot saves lots of time in the kitchen. Broken Shrimp Jambalaya makes a fresh taste change for these cold days and, of course, the Brunswick Stew is a nice healthy change of pace from fried chicken.
